Who is April?
In addition to being a life-long artist, April is a natural teacher and facilitator. She has over 20 years of experience facilitating, teaching and training individuals and groups. She has worked as an Employment and Job Skills Counsellor and assisted hundreds of clients to achieve their career goals.
Her first rule is – there are no rules! April is committed to guiding people to explore their own unique creativity. Non-rule #2 – everyone can create! No artist talent required!
A Certified Master Life Coach, April will lead workshop participants in a journey of self-discovery, using techniques such as Mindfulness and Therapeutic Art to express emotions, set intentions, reduce stress and set goals.
April is also certified as a Happiness Coach, Life Purpose Coach, Goal Success Coach and a Therapeutic Art Coach. She has been trained in Mental Health First Aid, Motivational Interviewing, Crisis Intervention and adult education. Her previous experience includes teaching Communications at Durham College, developing and delivering workshops for at-risk youth, adult emerging artists, nonprofit organizations, and employment & job skills counselling. She brings her contagious enthusiasm to all she does!
